The list
What is this list? Well, it's everything I want to do in my lifetime.
I've broken them down by category, then by Easy, Medium, & Moonshot. Some I've already done (mostly casual ones 🎉), and some I probably will never get to (most of the moonshot ones ðŸ˜). But that is okay. It was a fun excerise to figure it all out.
Enjoy
Body
- Casual
- 100 days of sweat - 100 days of working out. No days off. A few years ago I finished this with my partner, dad, and brother. Highly recommend... I am still going.
- Medium
- 1000 days of sweat - 100 days of sweat but 10 times longer. Yep... I'm still going.
- Purple Belt in BJJ - Currently a blue belt. If I keep it up, I should get to purple in a few years.
- Hard 75 - Kind of like 100 days of sweat, but working out twice a day plus a few extra things.
- Ice bath or sauna once a week for a year - I've got to about 6 months before, but need to find a better way to do it besides a blow up pool in my shower.
- Yoga once a week for a year - I've been on and off yoga for a while, but always feel better afterwards.
- Moonshot
- Run a marathon - I'm not a runner, but I think everyone needs to do a marathon at least once!
Mind
- Casual
- Learn to make a website - What you are looking at right now.
- Medium
- Make notes on 1 book a month for a year - I never take notes while I read, but I should so I remember what I read and can skim them later.
- Learn to make a web app - User management, databases, APIs. My long term goal is to be a solo fullstack dev.
- Learn a language to B1 level - Grinding away on Duolingo, and getting to a B1 level is a long term goal.
- Reach 1200 rank in chess - I picked chess up (passively) a few years ago. Aiming for 1200 rank might make me play competition a bit more.
- Moonshot
- 52 Books in 1 year - Vanity for sure, but I never read until after uni and now I love it. One book a week is an achievement for sure.
Wealth
- Casual
- Buy an apartment - Finished in 2020 with a fat mortgage. Overrated 😂
- Medium
- $1m in the bank - Vanity for sure, but having a spare mil in the bank (or somewhere safe and liquid) would be a very nice safety net.
- Buy and pay off a house - Long term goal for security. Bonus if its on some acerage.
- Moonshot
- $10m in interesting yielding assets - The ultimate goal. Live on passive investments, work on fun things full time.
Fun
- Casual
- Go on a hunting trip - This is my 2025 goal. And first step into being self sufficient with food.
- Medium
- Launch a video game - My partner is a game dev, and throwing around ideas with her is super fun. Launching something one day would be very rewarding.
- Publish a comic book / book / idea for movie - I have an idea... Just need a way to see it on a big screen.
- Moonshot
- Shout someone a holiday with me 1 time a year - I've thought about this a lot. Pick someone new every year, and pay for a holiday or experience with them. All expenses paid. What a cool way to create some stories.
Career
- Casual
- Start my own company - This will happen soon.
- Launch a product - In tamden with the above. I'm tinkering with a few things at the moment. More to come.
- Medium
- Have a 1k WAU product - I've always prefered B2B, and having 1k WAU seems like a milestone where you are creating something genuinely useful.
- Moonshot
- Get acquired - When you create something that outgrows youself, getting aquired seems super rewarding. Moonshot.
Content
- Casual
- 1 blog per month for a year - I've avoided social media and a public life, but having a small audience seems very fun.
- Publish 1 YT video - Similar to above, but mixing in video making which I used to do as a kid.
- Get 1k followers somewhere - Again, same as above.
- Medium
- 1 peice of content per week for a year - This could be videos, blogs, etc, but I need to find something I can passionatley & consistently produce.
- Get 10k followers somewhere - Solid base of followers to interate ideas with.
- Moonshot
- Get 100k followers somewhere - Gangster level. Probably too big for me, but it's another milestone.
Travel
- Casual
- Live somewhere else - I need to get out of my bubble.
- Medium
- Live in another country - Taking a new location to another level. Austin or San Fran are probably somewhere near the top of this list.
- Work overseas (remotely) - I've always fantasised about being a digital nomad for a bit. Being a solo fullstack dev seems like a logical way to tick this off.
- Visit every continent - 4/7 done
- Moonshot
- Visit 100 countries - Another giant milestone.
